The Auto Care Association is the voice for the auto care industry-a coast-to-coast network of 500,000 independent manufacturers, distributors, parts stores and repair shops offering quality, choice and innovation for drivers. The Auto Care Association keeps its members ahead of the curve so they can continue to serve every kind of vehicle on the road today-providing parts and services designed to make vehicles last longer, perform better and keep drivers safer.

We are currently seeking an exceptional Web Developer to add to our award-winning communications team. The Web Developer will serve as the association's chief resource for web technology and must be a strong programmer/analyst with a vision for successful user experience and interface of website design. This person plays a critical role in the execution of the external website strategy, maintenance and evolution of autocare.org. This position reports to Auto Care Association's Director of Communications and will partner with leadership in developing and executing various association programs that inspire and engage our members.

The Web Developer should have the skills and creativity to oversee and conduct website-building and theming for both desktop and mobile experiences. In addition to owning the association's core site, the Web Developer will also be responsible for developing and maintaining websites for the associations related communities and programs. The ideal candidate will lead the organization in the use of emergent online and mobile technologies that best tell the story of the association.

In this role, you can expect to:

Own and evaluate web content, web strategy, UX, usability, content management systems (CMS), web analytics, web development, search engine optimization (SEO), troubleshooting and responsive/mobile site development

Create and maintain functional layouts for the all of Auto Care Association and Car Care Council sites, microsites and Servers

Consistently ensure that all materials for association initiatives and content referenced in print or digital media are located on the website

Facilitate Back End site updates; procure and manage domain names; and develop online member services

Be responsible for increasing organic search traffic, conversion and revenue by analysing data and implementing changes that ensure Auto Care is optimized for visibility on search engines

Collaborate with technology department on website Servers and security

Continuously improve look and feel of association's web presence in direct partnership with the art director

Develop, analyze and report KPIs to gauge site performance, and provide continual optimization strategies, insights or other recommendations to improve website usability

Create and implement a model for tracking higher funnel content traffic through purchase on the website

Develop methods for integrating different products and database-driven web-based applications (event registration surveys, searches and dynamic displays)

Prepare web forms and surveys for data collection

Train staff on website updates and maintenance, ensure consistency and compliance

Negotiate with external vendors as necessary

Maintain Real Time awareness of all ongoing association activities and initiatives, and be proactively responsible for featuring them on the website as appropriate

Explore and assist in the creation of an iPhone or Android app


Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and three to five years of web dev experience, knowledge of popular CMS editors, E-commerce models, web standards and web languages such as PHP, JavaScript, HTML and CSS

Familiarity with writing SQL queries using MS SQL server or MySQL

Able to work in ASP.NET MVC application framework and have familiarity with DNN (DotNetNuke) controls

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and respond to shifting priorities

Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and techniques that support evolving needs

Ability to confidently present work and respond to constructive feedback

Proven ability to track results & utilize data to improve performance

Healthy sense of humor, positive outlook and lover of all things team

Automotive industry experience or passion a plus

Proven experience in responsive design and A/B testing

Familiarity with high-level programming languages like C# or Java

Familiarity with Javascript frameworks like Backbone, Knockout, Angular js, Angular 2

Experience/Familiarity with single page application

Experience/Familiarity with Single Sign On concepts and ASP.NET Identity server
